簡歷

黃貴權出生於香港,1959年於香港大學醫學院畢業。1960年於香港政府公立醫院擔任內科專科醫生,曾往英國深造。1966年回港後,於伊利沙伯醫院擔任血液病專科醫生。1971年起自行執業,至2006年退休。

1966年,黃貴權跟隨攝影大師鄧雪峰學習攝影。首部相機是Rolleiflex 2.8F,1970年代起,參加國際沙龍黑白及彩色畫意照片組,先後9次入選世界十傑,當中四次獲得世界第一。1980年,獲美國攝影學會彩色照片組五星級展覽者榮譽,1981年獲得黑白照片組五星級展覽者榮譽。1980年代,與國畫大師朱屺瞻共同研究藝術。曾任沙龍影友協會名譽會長、香港攝影學會會長。

風格

黃貴權早期的作品,以寫實的社會生活為題材;1980年代中跟隨國畫家朱屺瞻學習後,其作品主要以畫意的大自然為拍攝題材,曾多次到中國内地如張家界外蒙古等地區攝影。他至今仍然喜歡使用菲林相機,包括6×6吋底片的 Rolleiflex及哈蘇(Hasselblad),近年則常用佳能 Canon EOS-1V 35mm 菲林相機。

  • 1959  Qualified as Medical Doctor from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Hong Kong (MBBS, Hong Kong)
  • 1960 Served as Physician in Hong Kong government hospitals
  • 1966   Studied photography with S.F Dan
  • 1971 In private medical practice until now. Qualified as FRCP (London, Edinburgh & Glasgow), FCPHK & FHKAM
    Since the 1970s, has served in various capacities in major Hong Kong photographicSocieties, including international salon judge, proficiency examination judge andhonorary adviser ; and as chairman of thee Board of Director of Hong Kong 35 mm . Photographic Society, and President of the Photographic Salon Exhibitors' Association. Participated in International Salon Exhibitions in the monochrome and color prints divisions-ranked among the world's top ten photographers in nine years, and first in 4 years, second in 3 years.
  • 1985  Became friends with Chinese painter Zhu Qizhan, and was deeply attracted to and influenced by the Master's consummate use of color and light and the way in which his expressiveness was achieved through simple concept, powerful brush work and unique vision.
  • 1986  Awarded the Master of Photography title by the Federation Internationale de I'Art Photographique (MFIAP). Other photographic honours awarded: Hon FPSEA (1976), FRPS (1978), Hon . FPSHK (1982) and FPSA (1984)
  • 1996•  Served as Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Exhibition “Photo Gem 1952-1996”, accompanied by a fully illustrated catalogue, to mark the achievements of members of the Photographic Salon Exhibitors' Association over nearly half a century, the exhibits subsequently were donated to the Hong Kong Art Museum .
  • 1998  Served as Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Exhibition ‘Vision Beyond: Hong Kong Art Photography 1900-2000”, which opened for a six-month showing on 7 December 2001 , The exhibition was accompanied by a full-illustrated catalogue which puts on record the history of Hong Kong Art Photography of the 20 th century All the exhibits and related items were donated to the Hong Kong Heritage Museum.
  • 2000  In March, participated in group show with Kan Hing-fook and Lin Dung-leung entitled “Trio” which was organized by the Chinese Photographers' Association and exhibited in Beijing , Chongqing , Nanjing , Shanhai and Guangzhou .
  • 2001  Participated in group show with Kan Hing-fook, Lin Dung-leung and P.G. Chang entitled “Four Riders” which was organised by Chung Ai Photographic Club of Vancouver and exhibited in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary and Toronto.
  • 2002  In July, participated in group show with Kan Hing-fook and Lin Dung-leung entitled “The Golden Years” which was organised by the Shanghai Photographers' Association & exhibited in Shanghai and later circulated in other major cities in China . In November, solo exhibition at the Central Library of Hong Kong – venue sponsored by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of HKSAR. A Photo-Album entitled “Poetic Images” was published.
  • 2003  In August, participated as Program Presenter and delivered two slide shows on “Poetic Images” at the Annual Convention of the PSA at Houston. In September, awarded and enrolled as Hon FRPS for his contribution on the Promotion of Art Photography, Appeared in person at the award presentation in London. In December, interviewed by CCTV 4 in Beijing on “Elements Influencing the Artistic Value in Photography”.
  • 2004  In May, commended by the Secretary of Home Affairs of the Hong Kong SAP for Making outstanding achievements in the promotion of Art and Culture. In October, participated in group show with Kan Hing-fook and Lin Dung-leung Entitled “The Evening Glow” which was organized by the Chinese Photographers' Association of Beijing and exhibited in the city of Du-Wan (Kwaizhou) and later Circulated in other major cites of China.
  • 2005  Solo exhibition and publication of a Photo-Album entitled “Photo Impressionism” and to be exhibited in Macau , Hong Kong , Beijing and other major cities in China . Currently serving as Honorary President of the Photographic Salon Exhibitors' Association and President of the Photographic Society of Hong Kong .
